You know that Perron X (previously Lot Sixty One)is serious about coffee when you walk in and see the huge coffee roaster literally in the middle of the café. But hey, no worries, because this place has the space to accommodate both the roaster and plenty of customers without feeling at all cramped. I love that there is space to walk around at Perron X and there’s a backyard, too. The backyard is also a pretty decent size and just like the interior, there’s no theme of over the top fancy décor, just a friendly functional space to hang out and enjoy your coffee and food or study/work and enjoy your coffee.
If you’re like me and also think that breakfast always has the potential to be the best meal of the day, then yay, another reason to check this place: all-day breakfast and lunch from 09:00 – 16:30. The rest of the menu is worth consideration too: fruit bowls, shakshuka, hummus sandwich, soups or salads.
So as well as seriously good coffee, food and space these guys also have this great combination of a relaxed atmosphere with friendly but professional service. Is the chilled out vibe the Aussie/Kiwi influence? Who knows. But it’s so damn refreshing to find a place with good coffee AND good service. Just order at the bar and your coffee and food are served at your table. Chur!
