Frida Kahlo, was a Mexican artist who has become a global symbol of resilience against adversity and patriarchal oppression, a feminist icon, and, thanks to her affairs with both men and women, a cult figure in the queer community.
When Frida was 6 years old, she was diagnosed with polio and partially lost mobility on one of her legs. In order to fight her loneliness, she created an imaginary friend, a little Frida, a joyful version of herself free of pain and solitude and she became her best friend. Based on this narrative, five friends had a common vision to create a café-gallery where everyone, regardless of age and background, would be welcome to spend some quality time alone or with friends.
It’s a strictly non smoking café and it has very limited tables so you have to be a little patient and lucky to find a spot. La Niña Frida offers fresh sandwiches and desserts, homemade lemonades and top quality coffee. You can also find beer from small breweries created in different parts of Greece, interesting wine labels and special baked raki made with the traditional recipe of Amorgos Island. Go to this inspiring place, relax, enjoy yourself, share a moment with a special person and as Frida once said: “You deserve a lover who takes away the lies and brings you hope, coffee, and poetry”.
