I never thought I could be so fond of such an old-fashioned saloon-like place. There is something about its atmosphere that instantly captured me. Was it the wooden porch, the neon signs, the pool table, the motorcycle parked outside? Was it because when you walk into the bar you’re welcomed by the smiley thick-bearded owner? I cannot single out any of these things.
I particularly go to the Saloon for the live music. Clearly many people do the same, since it is packed on every such night. Luckily, there is a lot of room to stand next to the bar or at the porch outside, and I can easily find a good spot for me and my friends. The live gigs give out great vibes and the crowd loves to hear good rock songs and blues on such a perfect setting. There is a cowboy hat on each table for anyone to wear, in case their outfit is far from the recommended. Wearing the hat brings me and my pals closer to the characters in a good western movie.
Of course I love the big assortment of beers and drinks on the menu, but I absolutely adore the fact that it also serves food and snacks. I’d say that burgers and fries are good -typical- choices. So, head for the far eastern part of Thessaloniki in order to get lost in the world of the Saloon Crazy Horse.
