When my friends and I have needed inspiration to work on our projects, Sky Tower was our number one destination. Quiet, calm and gifted with one of the best views over Tirana, it is my favourite bar to relax and have a lazy morning coffee. The name speaks for itself: it is a bar literally located “in the sky” and with a very particular twist: it is rotating, so it gives you the opportunity to take in a whole look at Tirana’s best part of the centre from 360 degrees, if you stay for about one hour (that depends on the speed that the bar moves for the day).
When it first opened, it is true that Sky Tower was one of the top destinations of Albanians and it was almost impossible to find a table on a Friday or Saturday night. Fortunately, things have gone much quieter today, so I never book in advance. Most of all, I love Sky Tower’s variety of services. The rotating bar is best to have a funky Bloody Mary cocktail, or a delicious crème brûlée, whereas the restaurant is a welcoming spot where local and traditional cuisine is again, served with a modern twist. Grilled eggplant with qofte (meatballs) is my favourite dish!
For me, Sky Tower is surely all about twists!
