Master Mechanic (High Park) is an auto repair shop in the Roncesvalles-High Park neighbourhood. Why am I leading you to an auto repair shop? Especially considering that I’ve never even had my car repaired there? I don’t even own a car.
Their sign! It’s basically impossible to pass the Master Mechanic sign without smiling like a fool with a secret, especially when you’re expecting a message closer to “OIL CHANGE 49.99$ INQUIRE WITHIN”. I bike and streetcar past it often (it’s located at the corner of Dundas St W and Howard Park Ave) and always look forward to its positive words. I think it is such a unique and special part of the area, and not something you see often.
Obviously, you may not feel like crossing town to see a sign for 30 seconds. After you bask in the joy of the Master Mechanic sign, you could go for a walk in High Park (Toronto’s largest park), grab a bite in the charming Roncesvalles neighbourhood, or perhaps have a sunny pint on the patio at Bandit Brewery. All are within a 5-10 minute walk.
