I know I am not alone when I say that watching Love Actually every year before Christmas is a must. For those of you who love this movie as much as I do, close your eyes and sing Billy Mack’s no. 1 Christmas hit “Christmas is all Around” (I know you know the words). Now, get yourself to the Miracle pop-up bar in Toronto and Christmas really will be all around. I am not kidding. Miracle is a Christmas-themed pop-up bar that is on the 3rd floor of 251 Queen St. W. – you can’t see it from street level but look for the black door with a wreath and head on upstairs.
Once you step inside you are bombarded by Christmas lights, wrapped presents, Christmas trees, garland, a giant teddy bear that gives hugs, Christmas tunes, servers and bartenders in their finest ugly Christmas sweaters and, of course, a curated list of winter/Christmas themed drinks served in Santa mugs and other Christmas themed vintage glassware. For those of you not into cocktails, they also serve some house wines (red, white, bubbles) and beer. But c’mon, you’re going there for the full experience so don’t be a grinch and order a Bad Santa (rum punch) or Jingle Bells Nog (cognac, sherry, brown butter and cinnamon).
Note, this is a pop-up and only open until December 26, 2018.
