You cannot swing a piece of sliced, tenderly spiced meat in downtown Toronto without landing near a Korean BBQ restaurant. If you happen to be a Carnivorus Maximus then you are in luck. They all offer all-you-can-eat truckloads of different proteins for you to cook in a conveniently located grill in the middle of your table. However, culinarily speaking, that’s the only thing they are generally known for.
Then there are ‘Korean restaurants,’ the ones with varied Banchan (small side dishes), sensually spiced or outright scorching feasts for the tastebuds. Outside Korea town, you may find many, however quality of the food will vary, that’s why I am going to tell you about a great little spot. But… Shh… Don’t tell anyone.
Inside, you will find an orange decor which will fiercely inspire you to think of the colour orange. That’s it. However you are here for the delicious and affordable food. Pork Bone Soup, a Korean staple is a must-try, a meal and for $ 6.95, a steal. If you like it hot then make sure to order yours ‘extra spicy’ although ‘regular’ should add just the right balance of flavour for most. I have tried many items on the menu and yes, the Force is strong in this one.
Remember: You can refill your Banchan. I do.
