Aphrodite’s Organic Café and Pie shop is one of the only places in Vancouver with an all-organic menu, and it’s so popular (and good) that they opened another location right across the street! The pie shop is on the south-east corner of the intersection, and the larger restaurant/café is on the north-west corner.
Aphrodite’s pies are magical. Savory, sweet or cream pies, they all make your taste buds dance. My favorites: the blackberry apple pie and the chocolate banana cream pie. Don’t like pie? Aphrodite’s also serves cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, and a whole other pie-free but extremely delicious menus that will sate your appetite from breakfast to dinner and dessert. The brunch selection in particular is amazing; I recommend Tourtiere or the Fritatta.
On my last visit I was ecstatic to find that Aphrodite’s now has a full organic wine and drink menu, and a special daily brunch menu that is not posted on their website. If you want to have dinner at Aphrodite’s, be sure to check their website as they do post their current dinner menus under the “FRESH SHEETS!” tab. And if after dinner you want to buy a pie, you get 10% off if you show the pie shop your receipt!
Local tip: Aphrodite’s takes reservations for dinner, but not for brunch. It’s still absolutely worth the wait for an all-organic Aphrodite’s brunch, but be prepared to wait 20 minutes for your table. Brunch is served until 15:00.
