In the West End of Vancouver, you can find bars open late but most of them won’t serve meals after 22:00. Buckstop does! Everyday, until 02:00, you can get Regional American Barbecue-inspired cuisine, with a touch of West Coast!
Rock, metal or alternative music is playing when you come in and it is usually according to Fiona’s (the owner) mood. She gives a strong personality to the place and welcomes you in as if it was her house. There’s usually a few regulars sitting at the bar almost welcoming you as well.
Buckstop isn’t the biggest in the West End, but that’s one of my favorite things about it! You sure have a seat for your hungry stomach after 22:00 or midnight in this little woody cocoon. Even better, they have flavourful daliy specials and a bunch of great items on the menu (varying, depending on the season)!
I love the fried calamari they used to serve, my favorite of all the calamari I’ve ever had! I’m sad I can’t find it on the menu anymore, but I discovered the Buffalo Cauliflower and the Smoked Mushroom Bruschetta now. Mmmm! You can also get burgers (they have a new creation every Monday!), chicken wings or a diversified barbecue plate. The best part is: most ingredients are made from scratch!
