If it’s a cold rainy day in Vancouver and you want food that’s hearty and delicious, go to Burgoo. Or go because you are hungry; it’s always a tasty, filling and satisfying experience.
Burgoo serves comfort food from around the world; Ratatouille, Lamb Stew and Butter Chicken are just some of the items on the menu. Burgoo also has a tasty cheese fondues and a dessert menu that I haven’t personally seen yet, as the meals are generous and I’m always full after the main course.
Burgoo’s atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and cozy, much like their meals. The main meals are usually soups, stews and sandwiches, with the exception of their excellent brunch which runs on weekends from 11:00 – 15:00. My favourite menu items are the Beef Bourguignon and the Salmon Bahn Mi, but I have never had a bad meal here.
1) If you’re at the 4th Avenue location, put your name down and explore 4th Avenue to, they’ll call you when your table is ready. If you go there without a reservation, expect to wait 30 minutes.
2) The food is so good there are now 5 Burgoo locations, 4 in Vancouver (on 4th, on 10th, 101-1100 Burrard Street, and on Main Street) and one in North Vancouver.
