Edible Canada – Local sustainable food

What exactly is Canadian food? That is what Edible Canada At the Market strives to answer by highlighting simple and rustic food from coast to coast.

On the menu are a variety of dishes made from local, sustainable, and seasonal ingredients influenced by the multicultural mix that is Canada. All this is combined with classic CanadianĀ items like smoked fish, maple syrup, game meats and wild foraged foods. The beverage menu is 100% Canadian and includes a B.C. wine on tap.

The lunch and dinner menus are diverse, however, it’s brunch that I love them the most for. While the menu changes from season to season, some items to look out for are their duck fat fries often found in their poutine, and their eggs benedict. If you’re looking to get something on to go, there is a fish and chips window where you can grab and enjoy along the water.

Located on Granville Island across from the public market, in the summer, the patio is the place to be. However, regardless the time of year, be prepared for a busy restaurant and reservations are recommended. Also attached to the restaurant is a small store selling gourmet Canadian food products perfect for gifts.
