Wanting crazy delicious twisted sushi? Not crazy about traditional sushi but want to try something new? Look no further than The General Public on Main Street. It serves delicious food in a fun, eclectic atmosphere.
The General Public serves Japanese food with a twist. They have a huge menu full of cheekily named rolls (The Electric Banana, X-Rated Roll, Magic Mushroom Roll) that have non-traditional ingredients. The food is amazing for sushi lovers, and equally good for those on the fence; I took my mom to The General Public for lunch (she hates sushi normally), and she loved it! My favourites: the Sweetheart Roll, The Electric Banana Roll and Flamed Sushi.
Apart from the food, people come to The General Public for the decor; the restaurant has fantastic glow in the dark horned sculptures and fun art on the walls, and a colourful tongue-in-cheek menu. And there are always subtitled cult favourite movies playing on the TVs.
The General Public is easy to get to by transit, and is located on Main Street, which has many cute and trendy shops.
Local Tip: Make a reservation if you are planning on visiting The General Public on the weekend. They have no limit to the party size, so invite all your friends!
