There aren’t too many buildings left in North Vancouver that retain a historic touch. One of the exceptions is Mo’s general store – a shop on Lonsdale Avenue that maintains a historic atmosphere while providing fun modern products. While this building is a reconstruction of the original structure that used to sit here, it attempts to honor North Vancouver’s early days. You can check out the plaque outside the door for more information detailing the buildings past, but in short – it was originally a grocery store and then a post office.

It lives up to its name as a general store and feels like four places in one – a cafe, a gourmet food shop, a gift store, and a place for mainly eco – friendly household items. You can find everything from socks with colourful expressions, soaps and body sprays, artisan chocolate and food products, stationery, and board games. The board games and puzzles are located in a fun nook area just past the cash register, and up the stairs is the stationary and art section.

When I am nearby I usually like to pop in and browse for new items and pick up artisan chocolate bars.
