For a taste of snow when in Vancouver for the holidays, head up to the Peak of Christmas at Grouse Mountain. Be sure to layer up before you go, as it’s much colder than you’d think. Hop on the SeaBus from Waterfront station and take the 236 bus from Lonsdale Quay to get there by bus. If you’re not planning on taking transit, it’s just as easy to drive and park at the base of the mountain or you can take the free shuttle from Canada Place. The gondola will take you up to the top while also giving you great views of the city, so don’t forget to bring your camera.

At the top, you’ll find an outdoor skating rink, light walks, an open fire, and much more. If it gets chilly, head into the lodge for some hot cocoa to warm up. While many of the activities are meant for families, it’s also a great place to bring a date or a group of friends to enjoy the snow and great views of downtown.
