I personally think it’s important that one take some time to dedicate to himself, and for me, going to a barber shop is a very nice way to relax a bit and have a light chats with people living in the city. Even while traveling abroad, I like spending some time in a local barber shop in order to get a taste of different behaviours, humours, or even to get interesting hints from local people.
Since I discovered this very tiny and old-fashioned barber shop, really close to Campo San Bortolo and Rialto bridge in Calle Sant’Antonio, I wait for my hair and beard to grow. The owner is a nice lady, Mrs Irene, who took over her father’s craft a few years ago and carries on those artisanal skills perfectly. She became over the years a landmark for shaving too and that’s why she’s specialized in beard cut — you can often find long-bearded men sitting on that chair.
