Finding the perfect place to dine in Venice is no easy task. It is common knowledge that this tourist populated place offers just as many bad dining experiences as it does good ones. So, to guide you in finding the good ones here is a restaurant my Chef husband and I enjoy visiting on our day off.
Canal side seating designed for watching the boats float by makes Casa Bonita prime real-estate for a lazy lunch. With a lifetime in the restaurant business we generally order whatever the waiter or cook proposes. In this spot we go for the fish.
Traditional Venetian fare served all’aperto or intimately indoors in a classic lagoon style locale. A wonderful wine list emphasizing grapes from the rich selection of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
An excellent way to begin the meal for two is an “Antipasto Big Bonito”. A delectable, predominantly raw fish appetizer. Follow this perhaps with spaghetti alle vongole (spaghetti and clams) and then the grigliata mista di pesce (mixed grilled fish). End it all with a tasty Tiramisu. You will need this “pick me up” coffee infused dessert to get you on your feet and off on the next leg of your adventure!
