Crociferi – My portico in heaven

Caffè ai Crociferi is a bar in a great, unique location in Venice: it is an old, renovated monastery, with stunning architecture inside and outside. This spot is located inside the hostel We_Crociferi. Indeed, it is also a nice place to stay, with comfortable rooms.

There you can have breakfast, lunch, and aperitivo with a great selection of wines and cocktails. The interior of the bar are minimal, with a modern touch. It’s basic but stylishly set up.

But what I love the most is to sit outside in the courtyard, on the retrò iron table or on the stone benches under the arches of the colonnade: the perfect place to drink a good glass of local wine in a magical, timeless place. There is also a seating area on the canal where you can chill out.

Moreover, they organize nice events, such as outside screenings (during summer in the courtyard) and live concerts. Thursday night is the best day to go there if you want to spend a great night, listening to good live music (from jazz to blues) and drinking a marvellous Negroni (the best in the city).

In addition to the excellent atmosphere, the staff is also brilliant.

This spot is the best place to get away from masses of tourists but still remaining close to all points of interests.
