From July 16 – 2 August, everybody who cannot travel to the world’s second-largest continent, but has always wanted to taste the African vibe, can now simply go to Donauinsel. You will see colorful clothes, listen to some samba, soul, or reggae rhythms, and eat great food like Fufu or Pof-pof.
Things to do and see: At the Africa Days you find many shops at the bazaar. You could get your face painted, join a handicraft or drumming workshop, ride a camel, watch belly dancing or learn how to make giant soap-bubbles! There’s plenty of activity going on, which guarantees fun for the whole family.
In the evenings, you can enjoy concerts and some partying afterward.
What to expect at Africa Days: fantastic atmosphere as well as a great variety of food – I just couldn’t stop eating.
How to find it: Take the underground U6, get off at the stop called “Neue Donau,” on the island you must walk south for a minute. Don’t worry, you can’t really miss the little white tents.
Entrance is free for kids up to the age of 13 and for all visitors on Mondays (July 19 & 26 plus August 2) – donations are welcome!
