As the name of this nice cafe literally means “fat and sugar”, you might guess how easily you can work here against your body mass index. Mohnpowidlvanille cake might be something hardly any foreigner can pronounce (Germans count as well). But it’s worth a try if you wanna get this delicious (free of gluten and lactose) sweet. And I am sure that IiF, the friendly “proprietress”, might help you to order and get whatever sweet delicacy you want. So you might also go for the well-known and easy to pronounce brownies or cheese cake. Or rather try out typical Austrian Streusel.
The crowd is a mixed one as the cafe is so close to trendy Karmelitermarket, but it is definitely a place where girls, women and ladies feel at home.
And I really like its style and the furnishing of the “old school” in the entrance area: Formica tables, sofas etc, I last saw at my grandma’s place. This place is kind of a relief in Vienna where you’ll find plenty of coffee houses with all the chintz and fluff but only a few more stylish ones.
As the crew is small, they close the place from time to time for holidays, so check out the website.
