Until October 5, you can immerse yourself in works by Frida Kahlo and experience virtual illusions as reality. The multimedia installation in Vienna is a color-bustling art adventure!
What does “immersive” mean? Thanks to the innovative, cutting-edge technology of this unique art experience (3D-mapping projections), the viewer delves into the multimedia illusion and perceives it as entirely real. Images combined with perfectly coordinated music and sound effects unfold a breathtaking atmosphere. The exhibition includes Frida’s often painful life story and her work as a painter. The daughter of a German father and a Mexican mother created paintings that are brought to life here holographically.
After learning about the agony Frida Kahlo had to live through from an early age, there is a 10-minute color-bustling VR experience (watch the whole thing! 😉 The spacious Show Room provides deck chairs, beanbags, and cubes for you to relax and gaze at the multimedia show with Frida’s paintings and some photos of her. Here the art is projected onto the walls surrounding you; these are 24 meters long and five meters high. You’ve then reached the point where the exhibition dismisses you through the well-equipped gift shop.
The whole visit will keep you fascinated for about an hour. Make sure to bring enough time with you. Last entry: 1 hour before the end of opening hours! You can even do Yoga here!
Trigger warning:
The production shows, among other things, works with sensitive content, in which Frida Kahlo deals with the consequences of her accident and her miscarriages.
