Känguruh – Beers of the world

The name of this little pub is a pun on the German word for kangaroo and “Ruh” which stands for quietness. No kangaroos in Austria? You might have seen this before. Traveling the world as an Austrian citizen and answering the question Where do you come from? often leaves you with the following response: “Oh, AustrALia!”. That’s why.

But to get back to the original topic: this is not a typical Austrian pub, be prepared to meet lots of aliens or ex-pats here – pretty much everyone comes for beer. Let me tell you why.

I dare saying, Känguruh has the biggest range of foreign beers in Vienna, covering Belgian, German and Dutch brews as well as the ones from “Little Australia”.
Can’t decide? That’s normal at the Känguruh, just pick one and let the tasting begin!

You may have heard of beer fermented with honey, but strawberry, passion fruit, creamy banana or caramel taste?! In case you are not that keen to experiment, don’t worry; there are plenty of other brands labeled bitter, sour or strong. And you want to take the latter serious: many beers’ alcohol levels go as high as 12%! If you were feeling like having a snack with your drinks, I’d recommend the portion of cheese cubes. Prost!

PS: right next door yet another very interesting bar opened its doors! Timo’s Livingroom offers 44 beer cocktails. Now beer lovers really know which street to go to.
