Until September 4, you can immerse yourself in over 200 works by Gustav Klimt in Vienna and experience virtual illusions as reality. I’ve recently been to another similar multimedia installation that did not spark any enthusiasm. However, the Klimt Experience certainly is a fabulous art adventure!
What does “immersive” mean?
Thanks to the innovative, cutting-edge technology of this unique art experience (3D-mapping projections), the viewer delves into the multimedia illusion and perceives it as entirely real. Images combined with perfectly coordinated music and sound effects unfold a breathtaking atmosphere. The exhibition includes the life story of Klimt, born in 1862, as well as his work as a painter and decorator. Therefore, great architectural monuments on which the Austrian artist worked are erected mechanically or holographically before your eyes.
Come here to marvel at the reproduction of Klimt’s most famous work: in 200 hours of work, over 450 individual pieces were set up into a multifaceted ‘mosaic’ of the “The Kiss.” After that, for sure you’ll be spending a long time in the “main hall,” gazing at the aforementioned multimedia show. Freshly inspired, you then continue to a room where you can test your artistic talent. This is followed by a 10-minute VR experience dedicated to Klimt’s most famous works before getting to the well-equipped gift shop.
The whole visit will keep you fascinated for at least an hour. Make sure to bring enough time with you (Last entry: 1 hour before the end of opening hours)!
