When you google “best ice cream Vienna”, this place does not show up in the top 10, which is quite interesting, since it is quite popular, very close to the busy shopping street Mariahilferstrasse and there is always a long line in front of it. But that is probably the reason why it never became too touristy, and it never changed quality-wise.
A friend of mine told me about this place when we had a rehearsal at the nearby Amerlinghaus. I immediately checked it out and…wow…best ice cream in Vienna, hands down.
Yes, I said it. It’s really the best one I have tried here. They have authentic Italian gelato – not those big colorful heaps of ice cream that are usually sold. You don’t “see” the ice cream. You choose from the list based on your preferences. Of course, you can ask them to try a spoonful if unsure. The staff is very friendly and well-coordinated, and the place is just adorable.
They also have some other stuff, like cakes and biscuits, but I’ll be honest – I have only tried ice cream. My all-time favorite is pistachio – and soon, you will also find your favorite there.
