Bubble tea originates from Asia. A decade ago, the iconic drink set foot on the Austrian beverage market for the first time. Unfortunately, for all bubble tea lovers, the hype back then soon came to an end. At Tea Plus, Jacky & Kimi bring bubble teas and other fusion tea variations with natural ingredients back to Vienna for you, me, and all the fans out there.
The bubbles – also known as boba – are chewy pearls made from tapioca and added to the beverage. You can choose between the classic milk tea (nowadays, there are vegan soy, almond, or oat variants available as well) or a fruity fusion tea. I suggest, for your first attempt, you go with the hot option. Yes, when it comes to the temperature and sweetness of your drink, the choice is all yours.
At Tea Plus, they claim to work almost exclusively with organic ingredients and high-quality teas. The bubbles and cream cheese teas you get in their two stores are even homemade! You get that they pay attention to details upon entering 😉 If you are in the city center and crave some bobas, visit their second store at Krugerstraße 12.
You will find many new bubble tea shops walking around Vienna these days. Some of my friends prefer Le Chá and others vote Ichiban or the funny-looking chas at Mr. Box Tea to be their favorite. Those are all good, cross my heart.
