In case you’re not the early bird to catch the flea market on Tauras hill you might like to know that there is another good spot in town for vintage shopping – Lazdynų Pelėda Square. There is a flea market here that takes place in the late morning and early afternoon hours on Saturday and Sunday, but it tends to be unpredictable: more people turn up in case of good weather and you’re likely to find a really big crowd here only in summertime.
However, the flea market is not the only reason to make it to this part of town: check out the shops lining the square on Visų Šventųjų and Arklių streets. These will always be open during their business hours (also on weekends) and have a multitude of things typically found at a flea market on display. Some you instantly want to buy, others are so strange you will want to take a picture. Don’t miss the shop on Visų Šventųjų Street 9 and try to bargain in case you’d like to buy something. While you’re here, visit Halės Market that is just a few steps away to see what the locals are selling and buying. The smoked meat is highly recommended!
