Sometimes you want to have dinner in a place that is both simple and luxurious at the same time. One evening we decided to try the wine bar SOMM. It was exactly the place: luxurious, elegant, but at the same time very simple. You do not need to dress up to feel comfortable at SOMM. It feeds you and treats you so well that you really feel special the way you are. We had heard so many nice comments about this place, so we just had to try it ourselves. SOMM appeared to be even better than we expected.
SOMM calls itself a wine bar, but in fact this place is so much more than just that. It is a fine restaurant with a very detailed and carefully selected wine card, which is actually larger than the menu itself. It serves a variety of modern French/Mediterranean fusion-inspired cuisine, seasonally adapted.
In this place, everything is very tasty and worth trying, so it’s really advisable to take different snacks for all eaters and share them, order different main meals and have a bite from a friend’s plate. The sommelier will offer you a perfect wine match to accompany your meal. Be sure to leave room for dessert. I’ve heard people saying that SOMM bakes almost better churros than in Spain, if that can be possible. I will only tell you that their creme brulee is truly divine.
