Summer of 2016 was a special summer for Lithuanian fine dining and cuisine. For the first time in Lithuania, the restaurants were officially rated by the Fine Dining Academy, the Hotel and Restaurant Association, Lithuanian Restaurant Chefs and Confectioners Association and the magazine “Fine taste”. The gastronomy and HORECA professionals made a top 30 list of best restaurants in the country. According to the list the No 1 restaurant in Lithuania is Stebuklai (or Miracles in English).
Stebuklai is run by a young and handsome chef Martynas Praškevičius. A few years ago there was a very popular TV show on cooking where three good-looking guys were jamming in a modern kitchen, cooking delicious yet simple and slightly crazy foods. Martynas was one of them. Now he runs the best restaurant of the year.
Stebuklai is a classic kitchen with a modern twist. Here you will find such traditional dishes such as eggs Benedict/eggs Royale, pancakes, English breakfast, grilled fish and meat prepared with molecular cuisine elements. The biggest influence of molecular cuisine can be found in a dessert plate. Any dessert here is a real miracle on a plate. The food is really delicious here and the visual effect when you receive your plate will always evoke a ‘wow’. I recommend Stebuklai for breakfast because the eggs Benedict/eggs Royale are so heavenly good here they will make you scream.
