Whenever I feel like escaping the hectic life in the city, I like spending the day in the Botanical Garden in Powsin. There is such a wide variety of vegetation that you can feel like you’re in so many places in one day: mountains, Spain, Africa and many more. Even though it’s hard to believe, the Botanical Garden in Powsin is located within the borders of Warsaw.
Apart from walking through beautiful flowery paths, having a picnic or visiting the temporary flower exhibition which are quite often organised there, I like popping in Cafe Ogród where you can have a piece of a homemade cake or a portion of ice cream not really in common taste.
You can easily get to the Garden by public transport, although there is also a nicer way to reach this place. You can walk there or go by bike from Kabaty (the first metro station of the first line of metro in Warsaw). It is only 4km away and it leads through nice paths of Las (forest) Kabacki reserve.
