Since Chopin spent his childhood and first years of his youth in Warsaw, there are quite a few places here that commemorate him. However, Chopin Point is different from the others, as it offers the opportunity to get to know the taste of the composer, and not only the musical one :).
Every evening in Chopin Point there are concerts of Chopin’s music. As a teenager, he gave one of his charity concerts here. During the day, and after the concerts, the place changes into a cafe whose menu is inspired by Chopin. The special dessert called “Chopin’s Love” is described as: “composed of both Belgian chocolate, which Chopin loved so much, and fresh blackcurrant, out of which Chopin’s friend George Sand made jam for him. It’s topped with some delicate blackcurrant mousse and viola flower sprinkles, carrying the very aroma of viola that Chopin appreciated so much – in his living room, there was always a hint of it.”. And to top it all off, it’s all vegan and gluten-free :).
Chopin Point is located very close to the Old Town, on the Royal Route. It’s a bit hidden behind Hoover’s square. While going there, have a look also on Bednarska street. It’s just behind the corner and its location on the former bank of Vistula river makes the view really picturesque.
