The Majlert family, based in Marcelin-Tadzinek, has been occupied with agriculture since as early as the 19th century. For generations, the soil has been cultivated using the newest methods to preserve the culture of Polish vegetables. Today the farm focuses on providing fresh ingredients of forgotten Polish vegetables, such as kale, the brown mustard plant, watercress, lemon dill, edible flowers (see picture), and more.
What you get in their small farm shop are fresh seasonal ingredients – for the list of current products check their website in the tab Produkty / Products. During your shopping, the shelves will be stocked a couple of times by, mostly, members of the family. This is one of my favorite places to shop for greens, since, by supporting them, you also support the conservation of traditional vegetables using new technologies — yum at reasonable prices (i.e. edible flowers for 2.50 PLN = ca. 0,50€)!
The place can be reached by bus from bus stop Smugowa 01. The list of currently available fruit and veg is here.
