This is my favourite cinema in Warsaw: 1. they always have a great audience, and this is what I love, 2. they show interesting films, also quite non-mainstream films. Often they will show more than 1 film by one particular director, so if I am particularly interested in one director, I may partake in a small movie session. 3. some of the tickets (for example on Mondays) are quite cheap so you can watch your favourite films or films you haven’t seen yet without running the risk of being left with no money.
I must say, I am not quite sure how it is now, but some time ago they organized late-night films (starting for example at 23:00) and I quite enjoyed them on some sleepless summer nights. Still there are the cheap Mondays: tickets for as little as 12 PLN (about €2.75 euro).
Luna is a cinema with “history”. About three years ago it had problems with leasing the place and it was quite enthusiastically backed up by the citizens of Warsaw (who recently did not help another small cinema, Femina), which only shows how much this place is loved.
26 July will be Luna’s 58th birthday. The film evening will end with tiramisu and wine, hosted by their yummy neighbour, Wegeguru.
