When you check movie times in Warsaw cinemas, you might think Kinoteka is just another multiplex cinema. But you’re wrong, it’s anything but that!
First of all, it’s located in the city’s most iconic building – Palace of Culture and Science, with an entrance on Al. Jerozolimskie, which is now a listed building. Like in other parts of this building, in Kinoteka you can also expect to see some original halls designed in social realism style. That’s especially true upstairs, therefore even if your movie is screened in one of the bigger rooms (number 1 – 4), make sure to see the corridors leading to smaller rooms located on the first and second floor.
The repertoire is varied and consists of both more commercial Polish and international features, as well as more ambitious European productions since the cinema is part of the Europa Cinema network.
Thanks to the special atmosphere and lower than average ticket prices Kinoteka is always my first choice when I want to go to the movies.
