The recipe for a success? It’s quite simple.
1. Find a sailor who cooks while cruising the oceans.
2. Order the freshest and the best fish and crustaceans.
3. Be open only for 3 days during the week.
4. Change menu every week – according to your mood.
6. Don’t care about the publicity. People will know.
And they do know.
I can only quote immortal Janice from Friends: “Oh. My. God”.
It’s not only the best fish in town, it’s also an addiction. Bartek and Janek go crazy with the menu: herring tartare, soft shell crabs, fish cakes with algae – you name it. And every week it is different, so you can’t eat the same thing twice (unless you order moules mariniere, which are an always-available-classic, though not featured in the menu). Each week has its own topic: be it “herring”, “salmon”, “codfish”, “seaweed”, “calamari and octopus”, “summer classic” (that means flounder. And fish and chips), or “trout family”.
It is open only on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Unless Bartek or Janek go for holidays. Or for cruising the oceans once again. Then they will simply close “Lokal na rybę” for some time. Knowing that we will impatiently wait for them to come back.
In the early hours, you do not need reservation, but the situation changes with the evening.
PS. The website is in Polish only, but the menu in the restaurant comes in English as well.
