Chinatown and Viennese desserts sound like quite an interesting combination, but it is the norm in Washington, D.C. Although you may be in Chinatown, that does not mean that other cultures cannot work their way into the area.
Bakers and Baristas is a small and independently owned coffee shop where patrons can sit at one of the tables or bleachers to relax and unwind with a good cup of fair trade coffee (or in my case tea!) and delicious pastry or dessert that was clearly crafted with loving hands. The cashiers are also very knowledgeable about their beverages, pastries, and desserts, so they can help you pick out something that you didn’t even realize you were craving until you take the first bite.
They have Wi-Fi as well so you can bring in your laptop and do some work or study and be left unbothered. The streets outside are always bustling since the location is so close to the Verizon Center and Chinatown is always busy, but you do not feel that way inside the coffee shop. I have been to quite a few cafes in Europe and Bakers and Baristas makes me feel like I am back overseas.
