Pre-pandemic, my friends and I would go to Barcelona Bar just about every Saturday night. We’d walk into the bar area around 11PM, pushing through the young professional crowd to snag a table by the window or find a few bar stools. We tended to split a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc, or have their Bourbon Spice Rack or spicy jalapeño cocktails.
We also liked to order the tapas at the bar – the croquetas, patatas bravas, brussel sprouts, and crepes dessert were some of our favorites. When an order took a while or something went wrong, the bartender or waitress would give us a token, good for a free drink or tapa.
Along with the food and drinks, the atmosphere is what kept us coming back to Barcelona Bar, and is why I’ve visited recently for their outdoor dining. To meet health safety precautions, Barcelona Bar has their outdoor patio, and spaced out tables along 14th street, open for reservations. They also have Take Home ordering and seem to have some indoor tables.
Their playlist is still on point, and the crowd seems to be just as fun as I remember it, even if we’re waving from far apart. Their dinner menu has tons of Catalonian favorites for pretty affordable prices, and their brunch menu includes a great Bloody Mary.
Reservations can be hard to get, though, so reserve early if you can. And keep in mind that they’re a cashless restaurant – QR codes are set up for now.
