I love local neighborhood book stores, especially book stores that have more of a community feel. The type of stores that are happy that you just came in to browse. Idle Time Books is in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of DC and located in NW.
The last time I was in Idle Time Books I was able to find a rare first edition for under $15. They have a mix of new books and used. Everything is very reasonably priced. They have a couple reading nooks with comfy chairs for you to relax and check out some new titles. It’s one of those places that has something new every time you go in there.
I would recommend cash if you plan on purchasing. They like that here. They have a great selection of prep books at a fraction of the cost you would find at the big box book stores.
They best way to get here is the Woodley Park Metro Stop. Then walk over the Duke Ellington Bridge on Calvert street and you’ll be right at the beginning of Adams Morgan.
