Le Grenier is my go-to when I am looking for a delicious and reasonably priced French restaurant in the District. They serve both brunch and dinner. On Saturdays and Sundays, they have a special deal and for $20 you can get an appetizer, entrée, dessert and a glass of wine. For dinner, they serve a variety of French beef, seafood, chicken, and duck entrees. I’ve tried the Cassoulet Toulousain (duck leg confeit) and the Agnel (a rack of lamb) which are both delicious. Their crepes are also a perfect way to top off the meal.
The cocktails are also worth sampling. I would recommend the H for Hipster (with grapefruit-infused gin) and the Mademoiselle (with blackberry-infused vodka).
Beyond the fare and traditional French décor, the staff are very friendly. I will say the service can sometimes be a bit slow on busy nights, so be wary of that. Other than that, this is a great French restaurant for the price!
