Mangialardo's Washington DC

Mangialardo’s – The best sandwich in DC

If you are looking for your classic, Italian sandwich in the District, “Mangi’s” is your place. There is no seating; it is pick-up only.

This no-frills deli is very reasonably priced and costs about $9 for a huge sandwich that can easily be turned into two meals. I always order the G-Man with ham, salami, mortadella, pepperoni, fontina cheese, provolone cheese and oregano. Whether to get your sandwich on a hard or soft roll is up for debate, but I personally prefer the soft.

It is important to note that Mangi’s is only open Mon-Fri, so the next time you have a day off, plan your schedule accordingly! I’ve been told it gets busy at lunchtime so it is best to call in and pre-order. Also, remember to bring cash as they do not accept credit cards.
