I’ve always found it hard to find a fun Mexican place in Washington, D.C., somewhere that has a really fun vibe and great cocktails. Luckily that’s changed over the years, especially with Mission Navy Yard recently opening across from Nationals Stadium. I’ve gone there a couple of times to try their brunch dishes and cocktails and definitely recommend it as a spot to go in the area.
At 150 feet long, their bar is the largest in D.C. It’s a great spot to watch a sports game, have happy hour or brunch with a big group of friends. The layout inside is very modern and the bright colors make it a party. There’s an atrium to make it feel like an outdoor courtyard, and tons of balconies throughout the venue. I’m honestly shocked at how big it is every time I go there. Unless a game’s going on nearby, you’ll definitely find a spot.
They serve happy hour seven days a week, which is a fun bonus for the weekends. Meaning, if you want to stay past their bottomless brunch (that includes margaritas!), you can catch some more deals later on. I specifically love their guacamole, churro bites and breakfast tacos. The Tequila Mockingbird cocktail is my favorite, bright with a spicy kick. The area around Nats Park has been building up over the years, and this new spot is one of the best.
