The Arts Walk – A creative community

The Arts Walk (a brick-paved strip on Monroe St.) is a neat community where 27 artists create and exhibit their work. Their works include pottery, paintings, and other various crafts. You can visit the shops to see art in progress and meet the artists. It is also a great spot to shop for local gifts and maybe even find some inspiration for your own creative pursuits.

There are also a few restaurants and coffee shops in the strip, including Brookland Pint, which has 24 craft brews on tap, and Filter Coffeehouse, with amazing espresso-based drinks. If you have time, I also highly recommend you take a trip to the Basilica of the National Shrine too. It is the largest Roman Catholic church in the Unites States and is quite beautiful inside.

The Arts Walk/Brookland is very metro accessible (get off at the Brookland Metro) and there is also plenty of parking.
