The Washington Harbour Ice Rink is a staple in DC. It’s a picturesque outdoor ice-skating rink that’s a got a great view along the Potomac River.
Every year, starting in mid-November, the area around the fountain at the Washington Harbour in Georgetown gets turned into an ice-skating rink. I really like this rink because it’s so close to lots of other things. If you want to also get something to eat, watch a movie, or just walk around the historic neighborhood, you can include the Washington Harbour Ice Rink to either begin or cap off your time in Georgetown.
If you are driving, I highly recommend making a trip here something you do in addition to other activities. It’s not easy to find parking in Georgetown and the parking that exists isn’t cheap. Additionally, there are no Metro trains that go there, so you’ll either have to take a bus or get a ride (Uber, Lyft, taxi, etc).
The Washington Harbour Ice Rink closes for the season on 13 March 2022, so do your best to make it there while you can.
