Armenia has delicious food. The dolmas are succulent, the kabobs are filling, and the lahmajun appetizing. Yet, eating these on a daily basis can get a little redundant. Sure, there are many other Armenian dishes to enjoy, but sometimes you just need to diversify your palate. Good thing there is Gastropolis, located near the famous Republic Square. This place has it all, and everything is pretty dang great.
Chinese? Italian? Salad? Pizza? Pasta? Armenian? You want it, they have it. I understand that many people would be concerned – its a tourist’s standard rule of thumb: too many international food items served at one restaurant = leave. WRONG! Gastropolis is an exception to that rule. The best way to describe Gastropolis is the following: it is like many restaurants in one. Each cuisine or type of food has its own section (I believe there are six sections as mentioned above plus a coffee and smoothie area). In this regard, it is more like contemporary American or European cafeterias or like street food markets in the UK.
Overall, this place is really quite good, especially the Chinese section. I really enjoy visiting this eatery. Each and every time I leave satisfied. If you want a nice mix of food and a positive atmosphere, give this place a shot!
