The great Latin proverb Nomen est Omen says that the name is an omen. I learned that sometimes it’s exactly the opposite. Best coffee I ever tried in Zagreb is made here, in a place called Najgora kava u gradu – ‘Worst coffee in town’.
Hidden in a small alley, only a few minutes walk from the main square, Najgora kava is a little piece of heaven for true coffee lovers. First time I came here, I immediately had a feeling that something good was about to happen. And it did. A really friendly, young barista working there explained their coffee brands to me and then made me that perfect cup of hot, black, steaming coffee.
I sat on their small but so romantic and kind of bohemian terrace and enjoyed every sip. I was so charmed that I had to buy some ground coffee they make themselves to take home. I was glad I did because it tastes so much better and richer that brands usually found in supermarkets.
Also, I had to buy this cool tin coffee cup they sell with their logo on it. It makes me smile every morning when I take my sip of my favorite black hot beverage from a mug that says Worst coffee in town.
