I remember a Churrasco place from my childhood years in Athens. It was a restaurant near the coastal suburb of Glyfada. I never had the chance to try the meat there. I only remember going for an ice cream on some summer evening.
And now Switzerland in the 21st century. A paradise for meat lovers. The quality and flavor are exquisite. The price is high, about four to five times higher than in Greece. But for reasons which I cannot yet explain, this higher price is reflected in the flavor.
So, when I saw a Churrasco restaurant in Zurich, I had to try it. I rarely eat red meat. It must be some special occasion. But when I do, then I like to enjoy it. So how about this: beef tartar as a starter and beef filet (400 fr) as the main course. No side dishes. Only the chimichurri sauce on the meat.
The restaurant location is very central. Occasionally, the area is called the “old town”, whereby I believe there are other neighborhoods claiming this honor. The fact is, you can walk there from most parts of the city. During the summer there are tables in front of the restaurant and a terrace in the back.
And if you want to continue after dinner with a drink and music: very near is Widder piano bar
