Corazón – Indulge in a heartbeat

Ever since I watched “Friends” (the sitcom) for the first time, I always wanted to find a coffee house or bar near home to hang out. A place to sit on the couch, lean among cushions, have a glass of wine and chit chat the afternoon away with a friend whenever my corazón (heart) needed it.

This is why I enjoy coming to Corazón. Here you can slowly welcome the day with a coffee and a croissant; take a lunch break while strolling the streets in the Old town; crown a long day of work with a full-bodied Rioja and tapas; or have a cocktail with that first date you looked forward to all week.

Their tapas are meek, but a good friend to their wine offering. Juicy olives, serrano ham and manchego cheese are strong flavours in need of a robust partner like a glass of Ribera del Duero, or for someone looking for a more delicate affair, a glass of Prosecco works very well. The deco is charismatic, and I am personally enchanted with their big wooden fan on the ceiling. It is slow, looks like a ship’s helice and makes no air, but it is beautiful to look at.

Their cocktails are also worth a look, however as the romantic that I am, I believe tapas and wine are one of the best love stories of all times. And just to make your heart beat even faster, they are open on Sundays until midnight. Isn’t it lovely?
