Whether you are searching for a café to work or study in or just a place to sit calmly in a nice atmosphere, Hirschli will fulfill your desire. They offer cheap coffee but are also a place where you are more than welcome to sit for hours with your laptop. Quite a unique place in Zürich, and definitely the best café to work at.

The Hirschli café was put in place by the university chaplaincy. But don’t worry, you don’t have to be of any particular religion to enjoy a hot drink and warm atmosphere. The space is open to everybody but you will be able to benefit from a particularly good deal if you are studying in Zürich, that is to say, 3 CHF for all-day long coffee/tea/hot chocolate! And if you are not studying anymore, the coffee is still 3 CHF, you will just have to pay for every additional one. Which is still very affordable in Zürich. Besides drinks, you will also find lunch options such as salad, sandwiches, and soup. Cherry on the cake, free syrup for everyone!

The low prices didn’t take away the charm of the place. Everything is made to make you feel like you’re at home. An additional detail that I enjoy is the window transformed into an entrance when the size of this window is clearly not made to be an entrance, but why not after all!
