R.O.M.I. stands for ‘Republic of Mediterranean Ingredients’, which is exactly what it is. R.O.M.I. specialises in delicious, quick, Middle Eastern food. Everything is made on site and tastes delicious.
Every time I go, I vow to order something different and always end up back at the falafel pita. Served in freshly baked, soft bread, it’s the yummiest of its kind in Zürich. The falafel is crispy and they fill the sandwich with all kinds of delicacies. In contrast to the bland, one-sided flavour of some falafel sandwiches, here they strike the perfect balance between crunchy, creamy, sweet and sour.
They also serve very tasty fresh juices, which I love. The other thing this place has going for it is the colour scheme. When Ï first walked in, I was bathed in turquoise blue. It brought me right back to a holiday I took in Santorini ten years ago, which is yet another reason why I keep revisiting R.O.M.I.
