Every time I walk near the Spanish Steps I have to take a “sweet” stop here. This is not the first location of this store, which is really famous in the city for its Tiramisù, but it’s really central so before or after a shopping afternoon or sightseeing tour it’s such a confortable location.

Tiramisù is probably the most famous Italian dessert all over the world and here is where you’ll find the best one! My favorite way to eat it is to go and sit on the close by Spanish steps and doing some “people watching” while eating the tiramisù.

I suggest for a first timer to start with the classic flavor but you’ll find a few other variants: Banana and Nutella (this is my favorite one), Strawberry and the recently added Pistachio.

Please Note that there is no sitting room inside. Only take-away. The historical one has a sitting room inside and a cafeteria inside and it’s located in Via Albalonga 7/B Metro A, stop Re Di Roma. Another Pompi Store is located near Ponte Milvio in Via Cassia 8/B.

Rock music lovers here is the place for you. Roman rockers are really fond of this club due the lack of rock clubs in the city.

This club offers a huge variety of events from 80′s nights, Rock Arena, Back to the Roots and the recently added night for LGBT community called Omogenic, but there is a great selection of live gigs (check their site for the live schedule) before the disco time, and sometimes even some markets like the Japanese culture one or the swap market party during the day.

The structure consists in two dance floors plus an outside garden and 3 bars.Prices are in line with the Roman club  prices (€ 5 beer/€ 8 cocktails) but usually there is one free drink with the entrance fee which is usually € 10/15 for discos.

Getting there: Termini-Giardinetti line (05:30 – 22:30) stop at Balzani or from Termini take the 105 bus (05:30 – 00:00). After midnight there is the night bus N18 that leaves you at Piazza Venezia.

Eataly is a new temple/shopping mall of Italian food that opened last summer. Here you will find every sort of food or drink that Italian cuisine has to offer. Their motto is “Life is too short for drinking and eating in a bad way”. I could not agree more.

First of all I really appreciated the fact that this was a useless and abandoned huge structure and now it’s a brilliant example of converted modern architecture. Secondly because there are a lot of restaurants, bars and lots of spots where you can buy the top quality Italian food, a huge selection of wine and beer, kitchen tools, t-shirts with nice and funny slogans and there is even a culinary school. Let’s show what Italians are good at!

Eataly is developed on three floors and every floor has restaurants and food markets everywhere so every field of Italian cuisine is filled. Prices are mostly affordable except for the restaurant at the last floor that one is really exclusive.

Wanna eat pasta, pizza, meat, fish, chicken, traditional roman food, vegetables, a gourmet panino or the real piadina from Emilia Romagna? Don’t worry there is a single restaurant for each of them. But let’s not forget the beer bar, wine bar, two coffee bars, the bakery, chocolate and gelato spots.

Metro B stop Piramide then follow indications for the Air Terminal orFr 1,3 stop Roma Ostiense.

Wanna eat in one of the most famous restaurants in Rome without spending all your salary? Here is a tip. Open Colonna is a prestigious restaurant owned by the chef Antonello Colonna located at the top of the museum Palazzo delle Esposizioni.

There aren’t many people that know that from Tuesday to Friday there is a promotion called City Lunch only at lunch time. During City Lunch for only 16 euros (beverages not included water is € 2.50) it’s possible to eat exquisite dishes of great quality, sitting in a beautiful modern structure made of glass, but if the weather is nice there is also a balcony.

You can choose to take a first course and a second course from the daily menu or just eating at the generous buffet. A desserts buffet is included in both choices.

On Saturday and Sunday there is the brunch but this has a price of € 30.

Storia E Magia is a store on via Ottaviano really close to St Peter Square, the shop’s entrance is where you’ll find a medieval armor because it is inside a court.

I love this shop even if I’m not a fan of fairy tales or the medieval world because it seems like you’re in a previous era or in magical world in this store. As a matter of fact you will be surrounded by many ancient objects, original items from famous series like Harry Potter (they really sell everything of it!) or Lord of the Rings, but there is even a big selection of medieval elements, clothes and even some jewelry. I know that girls love fairy statues, and here there is a full corridor where it’s possible to find any style and size of one. 

So if you wanna take a break from the chaotic Via Ottaviano, and want to immerse yourself in another magical world have a look at this store. (I have to tell you that in my opinion prices are bit high, but it’s also true that these are unique and well made objects.)

Getting there is really easy just take Line A stop at Ottaviano/San Pietro Musei Vaticani.
