Summers in Tbilisi are very hot. Even the name of the city comes from the word “Tbili” – warm city. In July and August the temperatures sometimes reach 38-40 degrees. On such days what can be better than to enjoy a good refreshing ice cream?
I work as a tour guide and in the summer I have to work a lot, even when it’s so hot. On such hot days, you do not really have the desire to eat. After the city tour, I always walk in the ice cream parlor to enjoy my favorite ice cream (stracciatella and tiramisu). This is the best ice cream shop in Tbilisi, Luca Polare, which has been delighting locals for 10 years. The idea comes from a German-Georgian family who decided to open the ice cream parlor in summer 2008. They were very successful, and locals have taken to white bear Luca with love.
Luca Polare offers up to 26 different flavors of delicious ice cream made according to original Italian recipes that don’t contain any artificial coloring and flavoring. It is fresh prepared every day. There’s milk- or cream-based ice cream, a wide range of fruit and berry ice creams that contains no fat or animal products (perfect for vegans), liqueur-flavored ice cream and ice cream for diabetics…
Luca Polare also offers coffee, tea, blended drinks, frappes, fruit fresh, cakes and sandwiches. Hand-picked gourmet coffee beans are roasted in Germany and shipped in vacuum-sealed packages to preserve aroma and freshness.
