If you like strolling around local farmers markets and food courts wherever you are like I do, then Arminusmarkthalle is a nice place away from mass tourism. You may not have realized the district of Moabit exists, even though it is only a 15-minute walk away from busy Mitte and the central station. With the food hall Arminusmarkthalle, you will find that there is a lot to discover.
Whether you fancy some Peruvian ceviche and pisco sour or some greasy Canadian poutine or simply some fresh fish, this is your gourmand heaven. Without any aspiration to be hip, the industrial architecture (from 1891!) breathes Urberliner culture. No one dresses up to dine here and during the week it is pleasantly calm. During the weekend, some nice brunch options and music events await you.
What’s more? Their charming vintage bathrooms can be found behind the Canadian flag.
